Helpful Hints for Patients with Dental Insurance

- We can submit claims for most insurance plans. If you are not sure if your plan has provider limitations, give our Las Vegas dental office a call. We will find out for you.
- Dental insurance is a "REBATE" designed to assist policy holders with the costs of their dental care.
- The type of plan purchased determines the level of coverage you receive. Coverage levels can also vary between employees within the same employer or union group.
- All benefit payments are limited by a “fee ceiling” arbitrarily set by the insurance companies and plan type. This “fee ceiling” is referred to as the “usual and customary fee” by the insurance companies.
- Sometimes common dental procedures are not covered or have time limits as to when and how often they are eligible for benefit payment. These limits are not intended to dictate the appropriateness of dental treatment, but to limit the financial liability of the insurance company.
- "Preferred Providers" are dentists that have agreed to allow the insurance companies to decide how much can be charged for dental services in exchange for having their name on a “list.”
